Course Fee: $529/member and $629/non-member if you already have a 5th edition PHTA (APSP) Service Manual that you will use for the course. If you do not already have the manual (Because you took a CMS class in the last year) they are available for a discounted price of $100 by selecting 'Yes' to the question on the right 'Do you need a PHTA 5th Edition Manual?'. The $100 fee for the manual is additional to the course fee above (Making the course with the manual fee $629 total member or $729 non-member).

This fee includes the Service Tech Manual and CST workbook, which will be shipped to students once they are registered. Lunch on March 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th & 13th is included.

Hands on experiences will be part of this training, sponsored by Pentair Pool Products.

March 10th - 8am - 5pm Class

March 11th - 8am - 1pm Class; 1pm - 5pm Vendor Expo; 5pm - 7pm Reception w/ Free Drinks & Appetizers

March 12th - 8am - 1pm Class; 1pm - 5pm Vendor Expo

March 13th 8am - 12pm Class; 1pm - 2:30pm Exam

Location: DoubleTree Suites Hotel & Conference Center located at 2111 Butterfield Rd., Downers Grove, Illinois, 60515 A limited number of rooms are available for $115 per night plus applicable taxes.

Target Audience: The CST course is for individuals with at least 1-2 years of experience in pool and spa service and repair.

You do not need to have completed the CMS certification in order to take this course and sit for the CST exam, but you will be expected to have acquired the core knowledge covered in that course. We recommend that you have at least 1-2 years of experience in pool/spa service and repair to expect to be successful on the certification exam.

This course takes you through the PHTA Service Tech Manual and gives you what you need to know to conform to industry standards. You will be able to explain common problems with pool finishes and how to repair them; keep pools running more efficiently with a better understanding of circulation, filtration, hydraulics and electricity; grow your practical knowledge and gain troubleshooting skills and resources; and distinguish yourself as an experienced and knowledgeable service technician.

This course will earn students 24 CEU's towards PHTA certifications.

CST Certification Exam Information: To become certified as a CST Certified Service Technician®, you must complete the CST course and take the CST Exam. The CST exam is 2.5 hours long, open book exam with 100 multiple choice questions. You must score 75% or better to pass (answering at least 75 questions correctly).

The CST Certification Exam will be administered on the final day of the course. Tests will be evaluated by the National PHTA and results mailed to students directly from the National PHTA approximately 4 weeks after completing the test.
